Agemin

Agemin Terms of Use

Effective and last updated: October 15, 2026

Agemin is a macOS app for encrypting and decrypting files in the age format, published by Ilia Ross ("we"). By installing or using the App Store version of Agemin you agree to these terms and to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which governs every app distributed through the App Store. Where the two differ, Apple's agreement prevails for matters it covers.

The trial and the free app

The 30-day trial starts when you first get Agemin from the App Store and includes full access. No subscription starts and nothing is charged. After the trial, Agemin encrypts or decrypts one file per local calendar day, counted when the operation starts. Reading keys, inspecting a file's recipients, copying keys, and creating new keys are not limited. Nothing is uploaded, moved, or deleted by the limit.

Agemin Pro

Agemin Pro removes the daily limit. It is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase in two forms:

Both can be shared with your family through Family Sharing where it is enabled. Prices are shown in the App Store in your local currency before you buy. Purchases, renewals, cancellations, and refunds are handled by Apple under Apple Media Services Terms; we cannot issue refunds ourselves.

Keys, passphrases, and the age format

Agemin reads and writes the age file format, an open specification. Agemin is an independent implementation and is not affiliated with the age project. Files encrypted with Agemin can be opened only with a matching private key or the passphrase they were protected with. We do not have, and cannot recover, your keys or passphrases: a lost key or passphrase means the file cannot be decrypted by anyone, including us. You are responsible for keeping your private keys and passphrases safe, for backing them up, and for choosing the right recipients for each file.

Acceptable use

Use Agemin lawfully and only with files and keys you are entitled to use. Encryption is subject to the laws of the countries you use it in and export it from; you are responsible for complying with them. Do not attempt to circumvent purchases or reverse engineer the app beyond what the law allows.

Source code

Agemin's source is published on GitHub under the PolyForm Strict License 1.0.0 with added permissions for personal modification and contributions. You may read and inspect it, and prepare a contribution to the official repository under its contribution terms. The license does not otherwise permit distributing the source, modified copies, or binaries. The Min Tools name, the Agemin name, and the Agemin icon are not licensed with the source.

Warranty and liability

Agemin is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. To the same extent, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of access to encrypted files, loss of keys or passphrases, or loss of or damage to files. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited.

Changes

We may update these terms and will change the date above when we do. Material changes to Agemin Pro are announced in the app before they take effect.
