Pastemin Privacy Policy
This policy explains what data Pastemin handles, where it goes, and how you can control it.
Data on your Mac
While Pastemin is running, it watches the macOS general pasteboard for changes and stores supported text and images in its app container. Each history record can include the content, the time it was copied, its size, and the source app's display name and bundle identifier. Pastemin uses the source information only to label the item and show the app's icon.
Pastemin also stores your retention period, global shortcut, menu-bar and automatic-paste settings, setup status, and local Pro trial start date. The trial date is used only on this Mac and is not sent to the developer.
Pastemin has no account system, advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs. It does not sync clipboard history through iCloud or a developer-operated service.
Apple processes Pastemin Pro purchases and does not share payment details with Pastemin's developer. The app reads your Apple purchase status to unlock Pro, including purchases shared through Family Sharing.
Clipboard access and automatic paste
Clipboard content is never uploaded by Pastemin. It remains in Pastemin's app container until you delete it or its retention period expires.
Pastemin ignores pasteboard items that the source app marks as concealed, transient, or automatically generated. Password managers and short-lived macOS features commonly use these markers. Pastemin cannot identify sensitive content when the source app places it on the pasteboard without one of these markers.
When you choose a history item, Pastemin writes it back to the general pasteboard and returns focus to the app you were using.
Automatic paste is optional and disabled by default. After you enable it, the first selected item asks macOS for permission to post events, shown under System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility. With permission, Pastemin sends one ⌘V after you choose an item. This feature does not read your keystrokes or inspect another app's interface. If permission is unavailable or denied, Pastemin still copies the item and returns focus to the previous app.
Retention and deletion
You choose whether Pastemin keeps copied items for one hour, one day, one week, one month, three months, or forever. Expired items and their stored text or image files are removed automatically.
You can delete one history item or clear the complete history. Clear Current Clipboard clears the macOS general pasteboard; it does not clear saved history. Clearing history does not change clipboard content that another app may still hold.
After the 30-day Pro trial, Pastemin shows and searches only the five newest items without a purchase. Older items remain on this Mac and become visible again if Pro access is restored. The limit does not upload, move, or delete them.
Removing Pastemin and its app container deletes app-managed history and preferences. Apple controls purchase records associated with your Apple Account.
Your choices
You can quit Pastemin to stop clipboard monitoring, change the retention period, delete individual items, clear all history, keep automatic paste disabled, revoke its Accessibility permission in System Settings, or remove Pastemin and its container.
